Technical knowledge is important, but it is only one piece of coaching.

A professional padel coach must be able to:

  • Communicate clearly

  • Demonstrate correctly

  • Diagnose mistakes

  • Feed consistently

  • Structure a lesson

  • Understand tactics

  • Teach positioning and movement

  • Motivate players

  • Adapt to different personalities

  • Work with different playing levels

  • Understand the differences between coaching juniors and adults

  • Maintain professional standards

  • Continue learning

Most importantly, a coach needs to understand the person standing on the other side of the net.

Not every student comes to the court for the same reason.

One player may want to improve a specific shot.

Another wants to compete.

Another wants exercise and social interaction.

Another simply wants to have fun.

Before deciding what to teach, a great coach first understands why that person is there.
